Is there really no per-seat tax?
Correct. Every plan includes unlimited seats, so adding teammates never changes your bill.
What counts as an MAU?
A unique context (usually a user) that your SDKs evaluate within the calendar month. We deduplicate by context key across your entire organization, so the same user active in both staging and production, or evaluated a thousand times, still counts once. For a multi-context evaluation we count only the single largest context kind, not the sum. Anonymous contexts count too, but our SDKs reuse a stable key per device so they never inflate your number.
Do you charge for server-side SDKs or connections?
No. Your backend services, microservices, and serverless functions connect for free. There are no per-connection fees, the model legacy platforms use that makes a large fleet expensive. Each plan includes a concurrent-connection allowance (100 on Free, thousands on paid plans). Go over it and we don't bill you or cut you off: your flags keep streaming, and your live usage sits in the dashboard so you can decide when to upgrade.
What is Failsafe delivery?
Failsafe is multi-CDN delivery: your flags served over two independent networks, so if one has a bad day the other keeps serving without interruption, using whichever network is closer. It is in development for paid plans (planned Q3 2026). Until it ships, every plan is served from our primary CDN.
What happens if I go over my MAU limit?
Flags keep evaluating. We never break production. You get a dashboard banner and email at 80, 100, and 120% of your cap. After a grace period (30 to 90 days depending on tier) we either bill the overage at $0.30 to $0.50 per 1,000 extra MAU, or invite you to upgrade. Elastic skips the grace period because there's no cap to breach.
Can I switch plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and we prorate. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle so you keep what you paid for.
Do you have a startup / migration program?
Yes. YC, Techstars, AngelPad, and On Deck companies, plus anyone with less than $2M raised, get the Growth tier free for 12 months. Switching from another flag platform? Three months of Starter or Growth on us. Email support@feat.so with your import.
When does Enterprise make sense?
When you need SCIM, custom data residency, private tenancy, audit retention beyond 3 years, or a SOC 2 attestation engagement with a named CSM. Otherwise Elastic gets you all the way to multi-million MAU without a sales call.
Why is feat priced this low?
We run on a global edge network with no per-connection service fees and no nine-figure ops budget. Our infra cost per MAU is fractions of a cent, so the price you see is the price.
